I continued to perform alongside objects in Measuring space with 5.02m wooden beam, devised as a playful visual research about bodily balance and the navigation of space at large. In the performance I am balancing a wooden beam, slightly longer than five meters, on my forehead. The object was cut just to the exact length so that balanced on top of my own height, it would measure up to the height of the room, leaving little to no further wiggle room. My interest was in attempting to use the human body as an elastic joint, able to reorganize rigid parameters into a dynamic negotiation. While the performance was born out of intuition and a spontaneous spirit toward the possibilities offered by physical space, I saw potential in this sequence to explore other directions.
